When fully prepped and dry your metal project will be ready for powder coating. The coating itself is done through an electrolysis process, whereby, the metal object is positively charged in order for the powder to be attracted to it and bond well during the next stage. There are many colours and brands of powder to choose from depending on the needs of the customer and the end use of the project. There are outdoor rated and interior only rated colours and powders.
Because powder coating does not have a liquid carrier, it can produce thicker coatings than conventional liquid coatings without running or sagging, and powder coating produces minimal appearance differences between horizontally coated surfaces and vertically coated surfaces. Because no carrier fluid evaporates away, the coating process emits few volatile organic compunds (VOC). Finally, several powder colors can be applied before curing them all together, allowing color blending and bleed special effects in a single layer.
Once powdered, your work is moved in to one of our 3 curing ovens, and baked for between 10 to 30 mins depending on the thickness of the materials. our largest oven can take 6.2mtrs in length, 3mtrs high and 2.5mtrs wide. we also have a small oven, for smaller jobs. once cooled your work is then ready for packing and collecting.
